Miss World 2024

Krystyna Pyszková from the Czech Republic emerged victorious among 111 other titleholders from around the world and was bestowed with the prestigious title of Miss World 2024. The grand event took place in Mumbai, India, serving as the host country for this year's international pageant.

During the preliminary competition of the pageant, various contestants secured "fast track" spots in the top 40 by excelling in events such as fitness, beauty, talent, and public speaking. This cohort was revealed at the beginning of the show.

The field was rapidly narrowed down to the top 12, followed by the top eight, where the contestants engaged in the traditional Q&A round, focusing on topics deliberated at the latest G20 Summit. When prompted to illuminate an issue affecting women's healthcare, Pyszková, a 23-year-old law student and model, highlighted the importance of eliminating the stigma and embarrassment associated with menstruation. She emphasized that "being a woman is a blessing" and advocated for open discussions about periods, rejecting the notion of it being a taboo topic.

Following the last elimination, four participants remained to present their philanthropic initiatives to a panel of business tycoons on "Shark Tank India." Each of these finalists hailed from a distinct global region: Africa, the Americas and Caribbean, Asia and Oceania, and Europe.

Pyszková emerged victorious over the trio of runners-up, namely Yasmina Zeytoun from Lebanon, Aché Abrahams from Trinidad and Tobago, and Lesego Chombo from Botswana. Jessica Gagen from England, in addition to these women, is recognized as one of the pageant's "continental winners."

Miss World Event

Miss World, established in the United Kingdom in 1951 as a "bikini contest," is widely recognized as the oldest international beauty pageant. Notably, two of its most famous winners hail from India: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Miss World 1994) and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Miss World 2000). Chopra Jonas conveyed her appreciation for Miss World owner Julia Morley and Nita Ambani, recipient of the pageant's Humanitarian Award, through a video message during the event.

Pyszková takes over from the departing Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, from Poland, who held the title since March 2022. (The Miss World pageant was not held in 2023 due to scheduling conflicts).
