Sydney Sweeney embodies her latest Bai drink flavor while wearing a pink Alaïa maxi dress, discussing wellness advice and snacks during the filming of 'Immaculate'.
Sydney Sweeney collaborated with Bai to introduce a fresh variant of their fruity drink: raspberry lemon lime. The "Euphoria" actress graced a launch event in New York on Thursday, elegantly donning a pleated Alaïa maxidress that perfectly matched the deep pink shade of the beverage.
In the midst of an artificial orchard filled with lemon and lime trees, Sweeney delved into the artistic journey that led to the development of her latest Bai flavor, a project that took nearly a year to complete.
Sweeney informed WWD that during the filming of 'Immaculate,' Bai sent various combinations of flavors that she had selected. The nun's journey to a mysterious convent is the focus of her latest film, which will be released on March 22. Sweeney conducted a taste-testing session with her grandmothers, mother, and aunt while they were in Italy as extras, as she had flown them out. They collectively decided on a particular flavor after tallying up their preferences.
Raspberry lemon lime is also influenced by one of the actress' cherished childhood activities: picking berries. Sweeney was raised amidst the verdant mountains of Tacoma, Washington, where she often indulged in outdoor adventures.
Sweeney fondly recalled how his mother used to bring him and his younger brother to a waterfall near a large huckleberry patch. They would bring garbage bags, cut them open, climb inside, and slide down the waterfall.
The setting of "Immaculate," which unfolds in the Italian countryside, is not too distant from the remote backdrop. Sweeney's interest in the project was piqued when he tried out for the movie ten years ago.
Sweeney stated, "The project never materialized, but it continued to occupy my mind. I imagined how I would film it, the cinematography, every aspect. I would regularly contact my agent, asking, 'What happened to this?' Eventually, I considered taking control and trying to produce it myself."
Sweeney, under her production banner Fifty-Fifty Films, obtained the rights to the script and subsequently aided in the casting of her fellow "White Lotus" colleague, Simona Tabasco. Additionally, David Bernard, one of the executive producers of the show, was also involved in the production of "Immaculate."
Although Sweeney was brought up in the Catholic faith, she did not draw any influence from her religious background when portraying Cecilia, a character whose strong religious convictions lead her to pursue a life as a nun.
Sweeney clarified that he was raised in a family that provided unwavering support and belief in their children's choices. He emphasized that neither he nor his brother were compelled or coerced into embracing Catholicism.
Despite having hectic filming schedules, hosting "Saturday Night Live" for the first time, and traveling to Paris for Miu Miu's fall 2024 show, Sweeney manages to make wellness a top priority.
She emphasized the significance of dedicating time for oneself. She mentioned that she enjoys going on walks and hikes with her dog, Tank.
She attributes Bai's additional advantages, such as antioxidants and electrolytes, to aiding her in maintaining hydration, although she is also meticulous about skincare. The actress holds the position of a worldwide representative for Laneige, a renowned beauty brand recognized for their popular lip masks.
Sweeney, nevertheless, does not hesitate to indulge herself. In fact, she openly admits to enjoying some of her preferred snacks while on set, which include sweets such as Sour Patch Kids, Reese's cups, Twix bars, and barbecue chips. With a chuckle, she acknowledges that she may not have the healthiest eating habits.
Sweeney's raspberry lemon lime Bai flavor can now be purchased at leading retailers such as Amazon, Kroger, and Publix.
