Ferrari has officially announced that Oliver Bearman will stand in for Carlos Sainz at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
The Spanish driver has been diagnosed with appendicitis, so the British driver will take over his Reserve duties and race in Jeddah this weekend.
Bearman won't compete against PREMA Racing for the rest of the F2 weekend. As a result, the Italian team will only field one car for the remainder of Round 2.
Ferrari's announcement confirmed that Bearman will drive the SF-24 during Free Practice 3.
Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and needs to undergo surgery.
From FP3 onwards this weekend, he will be replaced by Reserve Driver Oliver Bearman.
Oliver will not continue to participate in this round of the F2 Championship.
The Ferrari family hopes Carlos recovers quickly.
